Geo Group shares fell 6.3% in pre-open trading, to $26.30, according to Investing.com. The decline came as investors trimmed positions ahead of the company's third-quarter 2026 earnings report, which is scheduled for release before the market opens tomorrow.
The report says analysts expect third-quarter revenue of about $770.87 million and earnings per share near $0.35. Those forecasts are broadly in line with the company's own guidance range, which followed a strong second-quarter beat.
The stock has fallen roughly 15% over the past month, while sector peers held relatively flat. Investing.com says insider selling, including share disposals by a company vice president in September, added to caution among investors. The stock is also well below its 52-week high of $33.17.
Major U.S. indices were trading higher, and the report says the weakness in GEO appears company-specific. The report also notes that analysts have flagged competitor CoreCivic as heading into its own pivotal earnings period, but no new negative news from CoreCivic emerged today.
According to the report, management's handling of fourth-quarter guidance and the ramp-up of its ICE detention contract will likely determine whether the stock recovers.
