Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd (CATL) Class H shares rose 6.7% to HK$361.6, according to Investing.com. The gain came after SNE Research data showed worldwide EV battery installations reached a monthly record of 145.1 gigawatt hours in September.
The data showed CATL kept the largest share of the market, followed by BYD. Investing.com reported that CATL's position as the world's dominant battery supplier remained largely intact despite a recent slowdown in EV demand. The company supplies EV manufacturers, including Tesla.
Investing.com said other Hong Kong-listed lithium battery stocks moved higher alongside CATL. The Hang Seng Index advanced about 0.6% at the midday close.
